Introducing "Nocturnal Melody," an original watercolour barn owl painting,  crafted on premium cotton watercolour paper measuring 31 cm x 41 cm.

Inspired by the magical hoots that echo through the night in my tree-lined garden in Somerset, this piece captures the essence of a barn owl in a peaceful state watching the world go by from his favourite post.

As I paint, I am continually reminded of the nocturnal symphony that unfolds outside my window, a timeless melody carried by the barn owls that grace the Somerset skies. Their presence is a source of inspiration, and "Nocturnal Melody" seeks to encapsulate the delicate features and serene aura of these magnificent creatures.

This painting is not merely a visual representation but a reflection of cherished memories from my childhood. I recall the days when birds of prey, including the majestic barn owl, were brought to school. The vivid recollection of standing beside these awe-inspiring birds, having a photo taken, planted the seeds of a lifelong connection with nature.

The friendly and calming aura of barn owls, evident in every brushstroke, transports me back to those early encounters, fostering a deep and enduring love for the natural world. "Nocturnal Melody" serves as both a personal homage to these magical birds and an invitation for you to share in the enchantment they bring.

With its evocative portrayal and heartfelt inspiration, this original watercolour painting is a unique addition to any art collection. Bring the mystical allure of barn owls into your space and let "Nocturnal Melody" cast its spell, reminding you of the beauty and wonder that nature bestows upon us.

About the Artist

I'm Samantha, a contemporary abstract realism artist from the southwest of the UK. My childhood in a sea fishing family, full of wildlife enthusiasts has instilled in me a lifelong fascination with the coastline. Bliue and green spaces.

When I'm not engrossed in my painting, you can find me paddle boarding, indulging in wild swimming, or going on walks with my faithful companion, Netty the Boarder Terrier.~My ArtIn my art I look to capture the mesmerising beauty of the natural world; directing my focus towards the natural energies and the profound connection we share with wildlife.

To infuse life into my work, I manipulate an intricate interplay of colour, shadows, light, and movement. I often incorporate things that I find in nature to replace traditional painting equipment, such as feathers and shells - giving me a deeper sense of connection with the natural world.Using a blend of mixed media, I employ bold, contrasting, and precise colours, often using visible brushstrokes, and broken lines. When working with watercolours and inks, I use vibrant hues and fluid marks to convey my vision.

Each of my pieces is crafted with the intention of exuding a sense of freshness to captivate viewers, and seamlessly harmonise with both contemporary and traditional settings
