About Samantha Frances

Hi, I’m Sammie — a colour-loving, nomadic wildlife artist inspired by contrast, movement, and the magic of nature.
As a military spouse, I’ve lived a life of constant motion. Each new home brings contrast — from wild coastlines to urban grey — and all of it filters through into my art. Life changes often, but my creative anchor stays the same: a love for wildlife, vibrant colour, and soulful expression.
Right now, I’m based in Paris but spend as much time as I can at our remote Normandy home. It’s a quiet, grounding place — a world away from city life — where the landscape feels raw and reflective. Living in Europe has opened up a dream of mine: to explore new coastlines, discover hidden coves, and soak in the changing rhythms of nature.
My heart will always belong to the southwest coast of the UK. I grew up on the southeast shore in a family of fishermen, where the sea wasn’t just a backdrop — it was a way of life. That early connection to the ocean still runs through everything I create.
I work in mixed media, using natural materials like feathers and shells alongside expressive brushstrokes and metallic accents. My paintings are bold, textured, and full of energy — aiming to capture the soul of wildlife and the emotional connection we feel to it.
When I’m not in the studio, I’m out exploring — finding inspiration in nature, light, and movement (and dreaming of wild swims!).
