About Samantha Frances
Hi, thanks for stopping by!
I'm Samantha, a contemporary abstract realism artist from the southwest of the UK. My childhood in a sea fishing family, full of wildlife enthusiasts has instilled in me a lifelong fascination with the coastline.
When I'm not engrossed in my painting, you can find me paddle boarding, indulging in wild swimming, or going on walks with my faithful companion, Netty the Boarder Terrier.

My Art
In my art I look to capture the mesmerising beauty of the natural world; directing my focus towards the natural energies and the profound connection we share with wildlife. To infuse life into my work, I manipulate an intricate interplay of colour, shadows, light, and movement. I often incorporate things that I find in nature to replace traditional painting equipment, such as feathers and shells - giving me a deeper sense of connection with the natural world.
Using a blend of mixed media, I employ bold, contrasting, and precise colours, often using visible brushstrokes, and broken lines. When working with watercolours and inks, I use vibrant hues and fluid marks to convey my vision. Each of my pieces is crafted with the intention of exuding a sense of freshness to captivate viewers, and seamlessly harmonise with both contemporary and traditional settings.
