A visit to the National Marine Aquarium sparked this new collection — but not in the way you might expect. One particular Black Grouper there has become something of a celebrity — there's a YouTube clip of him seeking out cuddles from his carer that will stop you in your tracks. It made me think deeply about the emotional lives of creatures we so rarely get close to. That curiosity became these paintings.
