The beautiful demoiselle is 12" x 12" or approximately 30cm x 30 cm, painted in iridescent acrylics and spray paint on canvas board.

Let me to share the inspiration behind this exquisite piece that captures the essence of the demoiselle damselfly in motion. During my serene walks along the fields that trace the flow of water on warm, still evenings, I was captivated by the sight of these delicate creatures gracefully fluttering through the air. Their visits to my garden, where they would find solace on my summer table as I savored a cup of tea while the evening approached, further deepened my connection with them.

Guided by my passion for nature and a desire to translate its beauty onto canvas, I embarked on this artistic endeavor. Employing a blend of abstract realism, I sought to encapsulate the dynamic movement of the damselfly. With bold dibbles and flicks of paint, each stroke captures the energy and fluidity of its flight, imparting a tangible sense of motion to the painting.

To capture the magical colourations that make the demoiselle damselfly a sight to behold, I carefully selected a variety of iridescent paints. These luminous hues playfully dance across the canvas, reflecting light and evoking the ever-changing shades that adorn the wings of these remarkable creatures. The result is a mesmerizing portrayal that encapsulates their captivating allure.

This painting is a humble testament to the profound connection I share with nature and the joy I derive from translating those experiences onto canvas. By welcoming this artwork into your space, you invite the same sense of tranquility and wonder that I experienced while observing these delicate creatures in flight. Let it serve as a gentle reminder of the beauty that surrounds us and the magic that can be found in the simplest of moments.

About the Artist

I'm Samantha, a contemporary abstract realism artist from the southwest of the UK. My childhood in a sea fishing family, full of wildlife enthusiasts has instilled in me a lifelong fascination with the coastline. Bliue and green spaces.

When I'm not engrossed in my painting, you can find me paddle boarding, indulging in wild swimming, or going on walks with my faithful companion, Netty the Boarder Terrier.~My ArtIn my art I look to capture the mesmerising beauty of the natural world; directing my focus towards the natural energies and the profound connection we share with wildlife.

To infuse life into my work, I manipulate an intricate interplay of colour, shadows, light, and movement. I often incorporate things that I find in nature to replace traditional painting equipment, such as feathers and shells - giving me a deeper sense of connection with the natural world.Using a blend of mixed media, I employ bold, contrasting, and precise colours, often using visible brushstrokes, and broken lines. When working with watercolours and inks, I use vibrant hues and fluid marks to convey my vision.

Each of my pieces is crafted with the intention of exuding a sense of freshness to captivate viewers, and seamlessly harmonise with both contemporary and traditional settings
